SPACE COWBOY (2024)

Space Cowboy (2024) tells the story of subject, Joe Jennings, a skydiving cinematography pioneer with ADHD and extremely polarizing career highs and lows, while attempting to perfect his biggest stunt yet – capturing a stabilized fully seated open-top vehicular freefall on film.

Jennings, affectionally known as ‘Joe Dirt’, allows documentary filmmakers, Marah Strauch (Sunshine Superman (2014)) and Bryce Leavitt (first time filmmaker) to share his story in a very raw manner, exposing not only the progression of his unique and highly-successful career, but also his personal battles in balancing family, life, death and career fandom alongside it.

If you enjoy human connection, adrenaline, success, failure, love, loss, hope, and ya, even maybe learning a little bit more about the history of cinematography and filmmaking outside of a lecture hall, Space Cowboy (2024) is a must see.

Space Cowboy (2024) celebrates it’s world premiere at TIFF 2024 (September 5th – 15th, 2024).
